Common Man Collages

This gallery contains digital collages, combining my own photography with drawings and found art from old books and magazines. In an attempt to evoke some of the feeling of physical collages, I made the pieces in this project look intentionally "chunky." The silhouetted characters were extracted from my own photographs of people using Photoshop. The silhouette of Common Man, who appears in all of the collages, was cut from an image I took after an ice storm in Boston Common, thus the name Common Man. The name has multiple meanings for me, a working class guy, and has since become a sort of brand. I even have it tattooed on my forearm.
